Design your own engagement ring online
The Ring Maker lets you create your own engagement ring in 3D, one choice at a time. Pick a diamond shape, a setting, a band and your metal, and the ring changes in front of you. Turn it with your finger or mouse to see it from every side, then find the diamond to go in it with our Fast Search.
Every design is a real ring we make to order, so the ring you build here is the ring you can buy, set with the natural or lab-grown diamond you choose.
How to build your engagement ring
- Choose the diamond shape. Ten shapes, from round brilliant to oval, pear, emerald and radiant.
- Choose the setting. Claw, halo, trilogy or bezel set: how the centre diamond is held.
- Choose the band. Plain, or set with diamonds in a channel, micro pavé or grain setting.
- Choose your metal. Platinum, 18ct or 9ct gold, or two-tone with a white head on a gold band.
- Find your diamond. Pick a colour, natural or lab grown and your budget, and Fast Search shows the biggest diamond, the best sparkle and the balance of the two.
Engagement ring settings
Claw
The classic solitaire. Slim claws hold the diamond up to the light, so as much of the stone as possible shows. Solitaire engagement rings
Halo
A ring of small diamonds around the centre stone. It adds sparkle and makes the centre diamond look larger. Halo engagement rings
Trilogy
Three diamonds side by side, often said to stand for past, present and future. Trilogy engagement rings
Bezel set
A smooth collar of metal wraps the diamond instead of claws. It sits low, protects the stone's edge and suits an active life.
Band styles
Plain
A clean polished band that keeps all the attention on the centre diamond and sits neatly next to a wedding ring.
Channel set
Diamonds held between two walls of metal along the band. Smooth to the touch, with no claws to catch.
Micro pavé
Small diamonds set close together with tiny claws, so the band looks like a line of sparkle.
Grain set
Diamonds held by small beads of metal raised from the band, a traditional setting with a fine, detailed finish.
Choosing a diamond shape
Round brilliant diamonds give the most sparkle. Ovals, pears and marquise shapes look larger for their weight and lengthen the finger. Princess, cushion and radiant shapes are brilliant-cut with corners, while emerald and asscher step cuts show long, clean flashes of light. Browse diamonds by shape:
Platinum, 18ct or 9ct gold
Platinum is naturally white, dense and hard-wearing, the choice for a ring worn every day for life. 18ct gold comes in white, yellow and rose; 9ct gold gives the same colours at a lower price. For a two-tone ring, choose a white head on a yellow or rose gold band, or a gold head on a platinum band. Every ring is hallmarked.
Natural or lab-grown, white or coloured
Fast Search finds certified natural and lab-grown diamonds in the shape you have chosen, picked from well over a million stones listed on the site. Choose a colour to see a pink, yellow, blue, green, orange or brown diamond on your 3D ring.

Ring Maker questions
Can I design my own engagement ring online?
Yes. Choose the diamond shape, the setting, the band and the metal in the Ring Maker above, and the 3D ring changes with each choice. Then use Fast Search to find a certified natural or lab-grown diamond for your budget and add the ring and diamond to your basket.
How much does a custom engagement ring cost?
The price is the setting in your chosen metal plus the diamond you pick. Fast Search shows diamonds for the budget you enter, and the ring page shows the full price of your ring with that diamond before you buy.
How long does it take to make my ring?
Every Ring Maker design is made to order and takes 3 to 4 weeks. UK delivery is free.
Should I choose a natural or a lab-grown diamond?
Both are real diamonds, graded in the same way. Lab-grown diamonds cost less for the same size and quality; natural diamonds are formed in the earth over millions of years. Choose Natural, Lab grown or Either in the Diamond step to compare them.
Can I have a coloured diamond?
Yes. Choose pink, yellow, blue, green, orange or brown in the Diamond step and the 3D ring shows the colour. Fast Search then finds coloured diamonds in that shape.
Can I see the ring on my hand?
Yes. On your ring's page, press Try it on your hand to see the ring on your finger with your phone or computer camera.
What is a bezel set diamond?
In a bezel setting a smooth band of metal wraps around the diamond instead of claws. It protects the edge of the stone and sits low and smooth, so it is a good choice for an active life.
