Natural or Lab Grown?

Natural coloured diamonds are rare, and the stronger the colour the rarer they are. They hold their character as a true one-off. Lab grown coloured diamonds are chemically the same as diamond, with strong, even colour at a fraction of the price, which makes a vivid pink or blue a realistic choice for most budgets. Browse the stones themselves in coloured natural diamonds or coloured lab grown diamonds.

Understanding Colour Grades

Coloured diamonds are graded on how strong their colour is, from Faint and Light through Fancy Light, Fancy, Fancy Intense and Fancy Vivid, with Fancy Deep and Fancy Dark for darker stones. A secondary colour is named first: an "orangy pink" is mainly pink with a hint of orange. Stronger, purer colours cost more, but a softer shade can look beautiful and keeps more sparkle.

Choosing the Metal

Metal changes how the colour reads. Platinum and white gold keep blue and green diamonds crisp. Yellow gold deepens a yellow diamond, and rose gold warms pink, orange and brown stones. Many of our settings also come with a platinum band and a yellow or rose gold head, so the diamond sits in a coloured setting while the band stays white.

How It Works

Pick a colour above to see every setting with that colour diamond, or open any ring below and choose the diamond colour on the ring page. The 3D view shows the colour on the ring straight away. Then pick natural or lab grown and choose your centre stone from our live stock of certified coloured diamonds, each shown with its own photo and grading report.

Made in Our Own Workshop

Every ring is handmade by our family workshop in the Cotswolds, jewellers since 1969, in 100% recycled platinum or 18ct gold, and hallmarked. Not sure which colour or setting suits? Book a virtual meeting or contact us and we will talk you through the stones we have.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Natural and lab grown coloured diamonds are both real diamond. The colour comes from traces of other elements or changes in the crystal, and the grading report states whether the colour is natural or has been treated.

Yes. They are just as hard as white diamonds, so they are made for everyday wear.

Each ring page shows the setting in 3D with your diamond colour, and you can try it on your own hand with your phone camera.
